Paige DeChausse from “American Idol 2010″ is one of the contestants who made it to Hollywood in Season 9 of the FOX reality singing competition. Paige DeChausse auditioned in Chicago, Illinois. Paige DeChausse is a blues, country and soul singer. She sang “A Change Is Gonna Come” by Sam Cooke for her audition. With the exception of Simon Cowell, all of the judges voted yes to send Paige DeChausse to Hollywood. She is a 21–year-old college student from Morris, IL, brought her whole family to the auditions in a limo. She told the story of having asthma as a child and being in and out of the hospital. Paige even survived a near-fatal attack as a teenager. Her family accompanied her to the auditions. For the actual audition, DeChausse performed her version of the song “Change is Gonna Come,” originally by Sam Cooke. The guest judge of the day, Shania Twain voted “yes” for DeChausse to go to Hollywood, but wasn’t convinced of her talent. Randy Jackson and Kara DioGuardi voted yes, but Simon Cowell voted no, just enough for the singer to advance to the next round. Her performance of “Change Is Gonna Come” didn’t exactly blow the judges away, but three of the judges thought she deserved another chance. She is now 22 years old.
